Results

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - Competing in its final round of the fall, the Drew University men's golf team took runner-up honors at the inaugural New Jersey Collegiate Cup on Thursday at Forest Hill Field Club.

The Rangers shot a 314 - their third-best round of the fall - while finishing just four strokes behind Rutgers-Camden for the team title. Drew beat out William Paterson (320), Stevens (331), and New Jersey City (339). Centenary also competed but did not have enough golfers to earn a team score.

Freshman Jack Strippoli led the way for the Rangers, shooting a 4-over 75 to place third among 31 competitors and just three strokes behind medalist Sean Sigall of Rutgers-Camden and two strokes behind runner-up Jerome Beyer of Centenary.

Not far behind was sophomore Luis Ng Tang, who tied his best round of the fall with a 76 and tied for fourth. Classmate Lucas Artigliere came in seventh with a 77 while junior Giovanni Albano rounded out the team scoring with an 86, tying for 20th. Also competing were junior Michael Bliss (T-23rd, 87) and sophomore Matthew Chang (26th, 107).

The Rangers will continue their season during the spring.
