RISING SUN, Md. – The Drew University women's golf team set or tied three school records at the Ursinus College Revolutionary Collegiate Classic on Saturday and Sunday at the Chesapeake Bay Golf Club.
The Rangers posted a 709 (364-345) - a school record by three strokes - for the 36-hole event to place second out of six teams. Drew finished behind only Jefferson University, an NCAA Division II school, while beating out Muhlenberg College, Arcadia University, Division II East Stroudsburg University, and Ursinus.
With their 345 on Sunday, the Blue and Green also equaled the program record for 18 holes that was set in the first round of the team's last match (the Pfeiffer Invitational) on March 4-5. Drew is competing in its second year as a varsity program.
Leading the way individually were sophomore
Lucy Lamb and freshman
Cathy Bi, who finished second and third, respectively, in a field of 34. Lamb shot a 165 (84-81) and for the second match in a row, tied the Drew record for the lowest 36-hole score. She shares the mark with Bi, who initially set the record in the team's season opener back in September.
Lamb finished nine strokes behind medalist Kinley Lingenfelter of Jefferson. Bi carded a 168 (87-81).
Sophomore
Kristine Masseria posted a 191 (97-94) to finish 18th while freshman
Cassidy Conklin rounded out the team scoring with a 196 (107-89), good for 20th. Conklin's second-round 89 was four strokes better than her previous collegiate-best. Freshman
Natalie Stilo also competed and placed 21st with a 199 (96-103).
The Rangers continue their season on Saturday, April 6, when they travel to the Susquehanna University Spring Invitational at the Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pa.
