MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Drew University men's golf team opened its third season of varsity play on Saturday, shooting the first round of the Duke Nelson Invitational, hosted by Middlebury College.

The Rangers shot a 318 and are currently in 19th place in a talented field of 23 teams. Sophomore Lucas Artigliere led the way for Drew with a 77, placing him in a tie for 39th among 118 golfers. Making his collegiate debut, freshman Jack Strippoli carded a 78, which puts him in a tie for 50th.

Sophomore Luis Ng Tang was not far back, shooting an 80, while junior Giovanni Albano completed the team score with an 83. Senior Anthony Castronova is also in action and registered an 88.

The tournament concludes on Sunday starting at 9 a.m.
