MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Drew University men's golf team concluded its first match of the season on Sunday at the Duke Nelson Invitational, hosted by Middlebury College.
The Rangers carded a 319 to finish the 36-hole event with a 637. They placed 20th in a highly-competitive field of 23 teams, defeating Castleton University, Wesleyan University, and UMass-Dartmouth. NYU won the event with a 579 (291-288).
Sophomore
Lucas Artigliere was the top performer for Drew, shooting a 77 for the second day in a row to finish with a 154. He tied for 50th place among 116 golfers.
Freshman
Jack Strippoli posted a nearly identical performance as Artigliere, recording his second-straight 78 to finish with a 156 in his collegiate debut, tying him for 65th.
Sophomore
Luis Ng Tang was the Rangers' third finisher, firing a 162 (80-82), while junior
Giovanni Albano completed the team score with a 165 (83-82). Senior
Anthony Castronova also competed and shot a 172 (88-84).
The Rangers continue their season on Monday, Sept. 23 at the Dickinson College Invitational.
