NEW YORK - The Drew University women's fencing team completed its regular season on Sunday by registering a 4-3 dual-meet record at the Eastern Women's Fencing Conference (EWFC) Championships at Hunter College. Those results brought the Rangers' season record to 46-18 and established a program record for wins in a season.

The Rangers started the day off strong with a convincing 27-0 victory over host Hunter. They followed that up with wins over City College of New York (17-10), Yeshiva University (23-4) and Haverford College (14-13). They dropped matches to eventual EWFC champion Johns Hopkins University (22-5), Vassar College (15-12) and Stevens Institute (19-8).

Emily Huber led a strong saber squad with an overpowering 18-1 record in seven team matches. She was supported by Kayla Ogden (10-4 for the day) and Emily Jones (9-6). Lydia Segal was tops in foil at 8-6, followed by freshman Ashley Abreu at 6-4. Senior epee fencer Erin Heller picked up eight victories on the day.

All nine Ranger starters qualified for the individual championship portion of the event. Huber again rose to the occasion and captured the bronze medal in saber. Joining her on the medal stand were Ogden (saber), Jones (saber), and Segal (foil).

Huber was also named First Team All-Conference in saber. Segal earned Second Team All-Conference honors in foil, as did Ogden and Jones in saber.

The Rangers will complete their 2019-2020 team schedule at home on Saturday, Feb. 29 in the National Intercollegiate Women's Fencing Association Championships.
