**Over the last several weeks, we have been looking back at some of the top moments in Ranger athletics from the 2019-20 sports season, spotlighting a big team victory or outstanding individual performance for each of Drew's 20 varsity sports.**
The Drew University women's lacrosse team won three of its four games in a shortened 2020 season, capped by an
exciting 16-13 victory over Lebanon Valley College in a game played in Hilton Head, S.C. over Spring Break.
Sophomore
Kendall Hartt led the Rangers with six goals and one assist. She also scored twice down the stretch as Drew scored the final three goals, breaking a 13-13 tie. Senior
Allie DiDario netted three goals and one helper while sophomore
Hailey Simmons contributed two goals and two assists.
Junior
Charly Nolting netted two goals and one assist while sophomore
Jenna Draney also scored twice. Sophomore
Meliha Emini added one goal and one assist. In goal, junior
Katiana Michalski made 11 saves and picked up seven ground balls.
Drew trailed just once in the game - when it was 1-0. The Rangers then took control with a 6-0 run, including back-to-back goals from DiDario, to build an early five-goal advantage.
Lebanon Valley climbed back into it with the next three goals before DiDario and Hartt scored once apiece to make it a 9-5 game. But the Dutchmen ended the half on a 4-2 spurt to cut the deficit to 11-9 at the intermission.
The Valley rallied to tie it at 12-all after opening the period on a 3-1 surge. Draney halted the run when she scored in transition off a feed from Simmons with 9:08 left, but the Dutchmen tied it again. However, with 5:30 left, Hartt kicked off Drew's big 3-0 run with the first of her back-to-back goals. Simmons assisted on the go-ahead tally before Harttt scored on a 1-on-1 to make it 15-13. Nolting set the final score with a 1v1 goal of her own.
The Rangers flexed the muscle offensively over their three victories, averaging 17.7 goals per game. They opened the season in convincing fashion in their first two games, beating King's 18-2 before knocking off DeSales 19-4 in their lone home game of the year.
Drew was coming off a tremendous 2019 season in which it tied the program record for victories, finishing 16-5, while reaching the ECAC championship game.
