Dan Moylan made an immediate impact on Drew's soccer and basketball teams upon his arrival as a sophomore, becoming a prolific scorer in both sports. Dan led the Rangers' soccer team in scoring all three years and is still the only men's soccer player ever to do so. His senior year total of 25 goals and 55 points placed him third on both single-season scoring lists and earned him All-American honors, making him Drew's first ever male All-American.
During Dan's tenure, the soccer team won the MAC-North title, and he twice led the team to the NCAA tournament. The 1985 captain was named Metropolitan Life Player of the Year and led New Jersey college seniors in scoring. His career total of 50 goals and 109 points places him second on Drew's prestigious career top10 list.
An exceptional athlete, Dan excelled on the basketball court as well. He led the Rangers in scoring his senior year with 352 points, including 42 points against University of Scranton, which broke the single-game scoring record at that time. He held the school record for free throws made in a game at the time of his induction, with 19 against Madison Avenue rival FDU, and was one of only four players in school history to graduate with over 850 points and 250 assists.
Although he was voted Drew's Male Athlete of the Year in 1986, his most memorable moment came in 1985 at Messiah College. With Drew trailing 59-58 and one second left on the clock, Dan caught a full-court pass 10 feet out and shot it backward over his head, turning to watch it swish through at the buzzer, lifting the Rangers to a 60-59 victory.
