A member of the soccer team throughout his Drew career, Frank was the starting goalie his last three years, was co-captain as a junior, and captained the Rangers in his senior year. In 1972, Frank helped the Rangers win the NAIA District 31 Champions with an 11-3-1 record while posting a 1.00 Goals Against Average and five shutouts. The next year, they were Middle Athletic Conference Champions, going 12-2-2 with Frank recording a 1.50 GAA and four “clean sheets”; and in 1974, they went 10-3-3 as he allowed just 1.3 goals per game and had five shutouts. He was twice named to the MAC all-conference team, as first team goalkeeper in 1974 and second team goalkeeper in 1975. He was selected by legendary collegiate and U.S. National Team Coach Walt Chyzowych to be the starting goalie for the 1975 East/West Senior Bowl for Divisions I, II, and III; was selected to play in the annual Senior Soccer Bowl in Orlando, Florida; and was a 1975 Regional All-American. John Reeves speaks of him as a great team leader, both on and off the field, who achieved a remarkable record as a goalie.
