William Biffs Clark was the epitome of a well-rounded student. While at Drew University, Biff divided his time between his studies in the highly respected political science department and many campus extracurricular activities. He was involved not only in varsity basketball, but also rugby, Circle K, Varsity D and dorm council. He was also selected to serve on the honorable ECAB for two years - all of this while remaining on the Dean's List for his last six semesters. Unfortunately for Biff, Drew did not have a boxing team for him to live up to the "Biff Bam Boom" nickname his parents gave him.
Despite some unsuccessful years for the Drew basketball team, Biff achieved many personal milestones. As a Ranger, he scored his 1,000th point during his junior year and was graduated with the record for most career points at 1,215. He also broke the record for career free throws at 219 and surpassed the single season scoring record with 397 points. The university retired Biff's number 20 at his last game in 1969. He still holds the second highest career scoring average (62 games, 19.6 ppg.). The team captain, he notes as his fondest memory the relationship he had with coach Whitey Macknowski.
