Men’s Soccer Releases 2012 Schedule

MADISON, N.J. (June 26, 2012) – The Drew University men's soccer team announced its 2012 schedule this afternoon. The Rangers, who are coming off a 15-win season in 2011, have qualified for every conference postseason since 1998.

The Rangers will open up with their annual Fall Festival on August 31st and September 1st where they will welcome in The College of New Jersey, Western Connecticut and Arcadia. The Rangers have won 14 Fall Festival titles under Head Coach Lenny Armuth and have claimed 10 of the last 12 championships. All three teams have made Fall Festival appearances prior to 2012. TCNJ owns a record of 7-2-4 at the Fall Festival, second only to Drew in total wins.

The following week, the Rangers will participate in the Scarlet Raider Classic hosted by Rutgers-Newark for the third-straight season. Drew has not lost a game in the tournament the past two seasons, including a pair of shutouts in 2011.

The rest of the Rangers non-conference schedule includes 2011 NCAA Tournament participant Manhattanville, St. Joseph's (L.I.), Ramapo, Muhlenberg and Berkeley College.

The annual “Battle of Madison Ave.” against cross-street rival Fairleigh Dickinson is slated for September 12th at Ranger Stadium. Drew has never lost to the Devils under Coach Armuth and is 33-3-2 all-time against FDU.

The Rangers will close out the season with three-straight, home Landmark Conference games against Merchant Marine, Juniata and Catholic University. The Rangers finished 5-1-1 in conference play last season before being ousted in the first round of the Landmark Playoffs by Merchant Marine.
