Drew swimming lost both of its meets to Lebanon Valley at the Kirby Pool on Saturday. The Rangers had five event winners, but could not hold off the superior numbers of the Dutchmen and women. The men's team had wins from freshmen Ulysses Baldwin-Beneich and Walter Bakun in the 126-65 loss. Selena Davis and Kati Eggert won individual events in the women's, 122-57, loss.
First-year Lindsay Root gave the Rangers a nice three second lead after the opening left. Jasmine Prokscha did well to hold that lead as the second leg before Eggert and Davis each added nearly two seconds to the advantage to close out the race with a 2:04.89 time, six seconds faster than the LVC team is second place.
Eggert continued her winning ways by taking the women's 50 Free with a 26.75. The junior won both of her individual races in yesterday's meet and is now undefeated in the 50 in three tries this season.
Feniello placed second in the 50 Free for the Rangers with a 25.03.
Ulysses Baldwin-Beneich won the men's 200 Fly with a 2:19.18, cracking Drew's all-time Top 10 in the event. The freshman took the race by nearly nine seconds for the full nine points.
The best combined finish for the Rangers came in the 200 Backstroke. As usual, Selena Davis picked up a victory in the meet. The senior has won at least one race in every meet this season, today taking the 200 Back in a time of 2:24.95. Root took second place after winning the 100 Back event on Friday. The first-year swam a 2:33.52.
Bakun, who won the 100 Back yesterday, took the 200 length of the event on Saturday with a 2:14.16 time, touching just in front of LVC's Jeffrey Bush by .15 tenths of a second.
