MADISON, N.J. (February 10, 2012) – A late second half push by Moravian (14-9, 6-5 Landmark) combined with a poor shooting performance in the second half by Drew (8-15, 4-8 Landmark), gave the Greyhounds a 58-50 win in Baldwin Gym this evening.
A tightly contested contest for the majority of the night, Moravian pulled away in a six minute spanwith a 14-2 run beginning with 8:43 remaining in the game. The Rangers scored only six points in the final 10 minutes and shot 21 percent from the floor in the second half. The Greyhounds took advantage of the scoring drought, going 12-26 from the field over the final 20 minutes of action.

Danielle Barber (Cape May Court House, N.J./Middle Twp.) led all scorers with 14 points and recorded her third career double-double by dishing out 10 assists. Sophomore
Logan Cavanaugh (Rutland Vt./Burr & Burton Academy) was the only other Ranger in double figures, adding 12 points and three rebounds.
The Greyhounds owned a 50-39 advantage in rebounds thanks in part to the duo of Alexandra Blair and Amanda Kreuder who each pulled down 11 boards. Forward Alexis Wright led Moravian in scoring with 12 points and eight boards. The freshman, also swatted four of Moravians nine team blocks.
The win by Moravian clinched their 11
th straight postseason berth and eliminated Drew from playoff contention. The Rangers needed to win their final three games to have a shot at their first ever Landmark Conference playoff.
The Rangers will be back on the court tomorrow afternoon when they welcome in third place Scranton. The tip is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Baldwin Gym.
