Box Score
WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 3, 2012) – Senior Danielle Barber (Cape May Court House, N.J./Middle Twp.) eclipsed another milestone in tonight's 69-60 loss to Catholic (17-4, 8-2 Landmark). The reigning Landmark Player of the week moved into fourth place on Drew's all-time leading scorering list after a game-high, 25 points.

Barber and classmate Katherine Luby (Old Saybrook, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) accounted for all seven of the Rangers 3-point field goals in the second half as a Ranger comeback fell short. Luby netted a season-high 17 points, all of them coming in the final frame.

The balanced Catholic scoring attack led the entire game and dropped the Rangers to 7-14 on the year and 3-7 in Landmark Conference play.  Three of the five Cardinal starters were in double figures including center Katarina Owunna who led the way with 18 points and five rebounds. Jenny McGann chipped in 11 points and Emily Grabiak dished a game-high eight assists to go along with her 10 points.

Over the first six minutes of play the Cardinals jumped out to a 12-4 lead, a margin that the Rangers would struggle to shrink. The Rangers answered the initial Catholic push with and 8-0 run courtesy of two buckets by Barber and a pair of layups by Victoria Ault (Middletown, N.J./Mater Dei). The Cardinals built the lead back up to 10 points and eventually went into the locker room with a 28-12 advantage.

Despite the 3-point shooting barrage by Barber and Luby, the Cardinals had an answer to almost every basket. The visiting Rangers would not get closer than their original halftime deficit of seven points for the remainder of the game. Owunna took over the game inside the paint, scoring 12 of her 18 points in the final 20 minutes.

The Rangers will look to rebound tomorrow evening when they travel north to play Goucher College. Drew will look for the season sweep in the first half of a Landmark doubleheader beginning at 5:30 p.m. in Towson, Md.
