Rangers Sunk by Royals in Season Finale

SCRANTON Pa. (January 26, 2013) – The Drew men's and women's swim teams fell to Scranton this afternoon in their final dual meet of the season. The men suffered a 170-66 defeat while the women were bested 133-97.
 
Junior Jess Harrington (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) won two individual events and was just out-touched finishing second in the 50 freestyle. Harrington, who won two events on Friday night, took home first place finishes in the 100 backstroke and the 200 backstroke. Harrington lost the 50 freestyle by .11 seconds.
 
Freshman Catie Rueger (Housatonic, Mass./Monument Mountain) helped the Rangers finish 1-2 in the 200 backstroke, coming in with a time of 2:28.14.
 
Junior Mariel Schwinger (Los Angeles, Calif./Sherman Oaks) was a double-winner on the day, touching first in the 1000 freestyle and the 500 freestyle. Her time of 11:32.82 was good enough to take home first in the 1000 while the time of 5:30.59 won her the 500.
 
On the men's side, Clayton Curran (Middletown, Conn./Middletown) turned in the highest Drew finish of the afternoon placing second in the 200 freestyle. After three wins last night, Curran turned in a time of 1:53.29 to claim second place.
 
The Rangers will begin preparation for the Landmark Conference Championships taking place at Marywood College on February 8-10th
