Kleiman's 7 Points Lead to 10-8 Win Over Stockton

MADISON, N.J. (April 1, 2015) – The Drew University women's lacrosse team got back to its winning ways on Wednesday with a non-conference victory over Stockton University 10-8 and handed the Ospreys just their second loss of the year.

Senior attacker Nikki Kleiman and senior midfielder Krysta Cento combined for 16 of Drew's 23 shots. Kleiman tied her season-high with seven points as she netted four goals, all of which came as a part of a flurry that brought the Rangers (4-3) from a 2-2 tie to a 7-2 lead over Stockton (7-2).

Cento, meanwhile, netted two goals and added an assist. Sophomore attacker Anna Fiorini and freshman midfielder Maddie Spiess combined for the Rangers' first goal of the day when Fiorini found Spiess after a quick crease roll. Fiorini would finish another assist and a goal of her own while Spiess added another goal just into the second half.

Also contributing on the night was sophomore attacker Theresa Shafron who set a season-high with two points. Shafron netted a first half goal that brought the Ranger lead to 4-2.

As a team, Drew protected and moved the ball with efficiency. Leading the charge was senior defender Sam DeSimone who set a career-high with by scooping up seven ground balls. Her performance radiated throughout the Rangers and as a team they successfully cleared 10 of 10 tries in the second half and 22 of 25 overall.
