MADISON, N.J. (Dec. 6, 2016) – A balanced scoring attack saw three Rangers in double-figures, but the Drew University women's basketball conceded the Battle of Madison Avenue to FDU-Florham, 62-49, on Tuesday evening.
By the Numbers: The Rangers drop to 2-5 overall and 1-3 away from home, while the Devils up their marks to 5-2 and 2-0 in the Ferguson Recreation Center. FDU-Florham takes a 37-23 lead in the rivalry series.
Top Performers: Seniors
Hannah Miller and
Sam Lane, and sophomore
Hailey Stine all scored double-digits in the setback. Despite a 1-for-7 three-point shooting mark, Miller still managed 14 points, four rebounds and four assists. Lane added 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting, while Stine shot 4-of-8 from the floor with two 3-pointers for 10 points to go with four assists.
Turning Point: The Devils ended the first quarter on a 12-2 run after Drew's sluggish shooting start. The Rangers responded quickly in the second period with a 12-5 run to tie the game at 22-22 with 4:03 remaining in the half. FDU-Florham was swift to counterpunch, however, with a run of their own as a 12-2 stint helped them take the lead for good.

• Stine helped start the hot second period with a made 3-pointer on the first possession and an assist on a
Ryan Jackson layup on the next. She also assisted on Drew's next bucket, a triple by senior
Courtney Trzasko.
• Buckets by Stine and junior
Ally Raulf, and a trey from Lane stamped a 7-0 run to bring Drew within one, 36-35. FDU-Florham squashed the momentum with a 13-0 run spanning 5:29 to end the third quarter.
• Junior point guard
Michaela Keegan grabbed a team-high nine rebounds with three assists and two steals.
