Keegan's Career Game Guides Drew to 54-50 Win at Goucher

TOWSON, Md. (Jan. 28, 2017) – Clutch free throw shooting and a career-high 19 points from junior point guard Michaela Keegan led the Drew University women's basketball team to a 54-50 victory at Goucher College on Saturday afternoon.

By the Numbers: The Rangers move to 8-10 overall and back to .500 in the Landmark Conference at 4-4, while the Gophers fall to 4-14 and remain winless in the Landmark at 0-8. Drew improves its road record to 3-4 away from Madison.

Top Performers
• Keegan's career performance was not simply defined by her game-high 19 points. She added four assists, four rebounds and four steals in the win, while shooting 7-of-15 from the floor and 5-of-8 from the free throw line.
• Senior forward Sam Lane added 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals in 37 minutes of action.
• Senior forward Ryan Jackson netted eight points and knocked down a pair of significant free throws in the fourth period. She also grabbed six rebounds.

Moment of the Game: With the score knotted at 49-49 and just 54 seconds remaining, junior center Ally Raulf grabbed an all-important offensive rebound before being fouled on the put back attempt. She promptly knocked down both free throws before Goucher missed a three-point attempt and fouled Keegan with 18 ticks to go. Keegan followed suit by making two pressure-packed free throws to help ice the game for the Rangers.

Highlights
• Drew erased an early eight-point deficit with a 15-0 run in the second period. Goucher did not score a single point over the final 7:47 of the second as the Rangers took a 24-16 lead into intermission.
• Goucher broke its scoreless streak and eventually used an 8-0 run to tie the score at 30-30. Lane squashed the momentum on Drew's next possession by finishing a fast break with a three-point play after being fouled.
• Senior guard Hannah Miller sank a three-pointer and Keegan drilled a mid-range jumper with two seconds left in the third to help Drew take a 38-32 lead into the final period.
• Another Keegan jumper and four straight points from Jackson sparked a 6-0 Drew run as they led 45-38 with 3:43 to play. Goucher, however, responded with a 9-2 run to set up the late-game dramatics.
