Six Seniors Honored in 82-70 Victory over Juniata

MADISON, N.J. (Feb. 18, 2017) — In addition to honoring their six graduating team members, the Drew University women's basketball team won its final game, 82-70, over Juniata College on Senior Day.

Guard Kati Yext, forward Sam Lane, guard Hannah Miller, forward Ryan Jackson, forward Nicole Jackson, and guard Courtney Trzasko were honored in a pregame ceremony as per Senior Day tradition. The rich crop of seniors includes four who have etched their names in the Ranger record book for varying achievements. These include Trzasko's 132 career 3-pointers (6th all-time) and Miller's 1411 career points (4th all-time).

Top Performers:
• Senior guard Hannah Miller finished with 22 points. This marks the third game in a row in which she netted 20-plus points and the first time she has achieved such a streak.
• Senior forward Courtney Trzasko, who, with two 3-pointers in the win, settled in at sixth all-time in career 3-pointers made with 132.
• Senior guard Sam Lane netted 22 points, a season-high and her second-highest total ever.
• Junior guard Michaela Keegan assisted on seven baskets, her highest total since Jan. 5th, 2017. She also added nine points.

Turning Point: The Rangers opened the second half on a 16-3 run, a wave they road to a 73-55 lead that effectively ended the game in the third period.

By the Numbers:
• The Rangers toasted the Eagles bread and butter, limiting them to just six successful 3-pointers on 25 attempts.
• Drew, meanwhile made seven of just 15 3-point tries and registered a 48 percent mark from the field.
• Drew grabbed 31 points off the turnover and the Eagles, just 14.

Other Highlights
• The first basket of the day came on a sister-to-sister connection when Ryan Jackson found Nicole Jackson off a back-door cut.
