ALLENTOWN, Pa. (March 29, 2017) — The Drew University women's lacrosse team hit the road to take on Muhlenberg College who bested them, 20-6, on Wednesday evening.
Top Performers
• Junior midfielder
Nicole Kinney moves into third place on the Rangers in scoring with a two-goal effort in Wednesday's setback. It was her sixth multi-score performance of the season and she has netted a goal in every game this season except for one. The junior posted 22 goals last year and looks well on her way to eclipse that total in 2017.
• Building on an already impressive freshman campaign was midfielder
Allie DiDario who scored once, bringing her total to 10 on the year, good for fourth on the squad.
• Sophomore attacker
Mia Campanale used a strong feed from senior midfielder
Morgan Mason to notch the Rangers' first goal of the game and notch her fourth goal of the year. Mason meanwhile logged her 29
th point of the season with the assist.
• Senior attackers
Theresa Shafron and
Anna Fiorini contributed goals to the cause as well.
Turning Point
Things looked dim for the Blue and Green from the outset and Muhlenberg exploded into a 6-0 run out of the gate.
Stat Sheet
• Both goaltenders turned in 10 saves apiece and Muhlenberg scooped 21 ground balls to Drew's 11.
• The Rangers earned 13 free position shots while Muhlenberg managed just eight.
• Muhlenberg out shot Drew 34 to 18, putting 30 on goal to Drew's 16.
