Ryan Fitzpatrick was untouchable for five innings in a non-conference contest against Rutgers-Newark on Monday at Doc Young, but it was a tale of two halves as the Scarlet Raiders exploded for 16 hits and 14 runs over the final four innings to defeat the Drew University baseball team, 14-4.

By the Numbers: The late offensive outburst pushed Rutgers-Newark to 11-5 overall, while the Rangers dropped to 11-6. Drew falls to 3-5 at Doc Young Field in 2017 at the hands of the Scarlet Raiders, who improve to 1-3 on the road.

• Fitzpatrick sat down the first 13 Scarlet Raiders he faced before giving up a single in the fifth. Rutgers-Newark tagged him for three runs on four hits in the sixth to take a 3-1 lead, the only crooked frame against the Drew starter, who finished with 11 strikeouts and zero walks.
• Senior center fielder
Marc Cohen went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and freshman second baseman
Bryan Reagle recorded his first collegiate hit with an RBI single to go with two runs scored.

The Difference: Back-to-back RBI singles from Reagle and Cohen gave the Rangers a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the sixth, but Rutgers-Newark had a quick answer with three runs in the seventh to start an assault of 11 unanswered runs to end the game.
