Erin Frederick posted a double-double with career-highs of 23 points and 12 rebounds and the Drew University women's basketball team capped a perfect trip to Florida with a 69-56 victory over Immaculata University at the Naples Shootout Sunday evening. Sophomore guard
Julia Ramos added 18 points and seven assists for the Rangers (8-3), who have posted their best start through 11 games since the 2010-11 squad opened 9-2.
How it Happened: Drew led for nearly the entire game and seized control with an 11-0 run midway through the second quarter to go up 27-19. The Rangers led 33-25 at the half, only to see the Might Macs (4-9) twice pull to within two midway through the third quarter. However, Drew responded with a 9-0 surge that spanned the final two quarters, and Immaculata was unable to get closer than 11 the rest of the way. The Rangers led by as much as 19 in the final stanza.
Top Performers: Frederick's double-double was the second of her career and her first of the season. She shot 10-for-18 from the field and also posted three steals and a pair of blocked shots. Senior guard
Hailey Stine contributed 15 points while shooting 3-for-6 from 3-point range, and freshman forward
Nashdah Noel grabbed seven rebounds.
Stat Sheet: The Rangers shot 44.1 percent from the field and held a 40-29 rebounding advantage. The two sides combined for 40 turnovers, including 21 by Immaculata.
