MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University field hockey team (0-1) dropped its season debut to out-of-conference opponent Ithaca College (1-0) by a score of 3-0 at a rainy Ranger Stadium Friday afternoon.
The Difference - The Bombers were able to get off a total of 12 shots, with 11 coming in the first half, as compared to the Rangers' three. Ithaca tallied 11 penalty corners to Drew's one. In a span of 10 minutes midway through the opening half, the Bombers were able to put up the three goals against the Rangers.
Top Performer - Senior goalkeeper
Ryann Callaghan recorded five saves off of constant pressure. She moved to within six saves of Drew's career record.
Up Next - The Rangers play for the second time in as many days when they visit non-conference opponent Cabrini College in Radnor, Pa., on Saturday at noon.
