Women's Hoops Storms to Fifth-Straight Win

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Six Rangers scored in double figures as the Drew University women's basketball team cruised to a 95-31 victory at Pratt Institute in non-conference action Tuesday evening.

Competing for the first time in two weeks, the Rangers (5-1) won their fifth game in a row. Drew also posted the third-highest point total in program history and the most since scoring a school-record 101 points in a victory over Saint Elizabeth on Jan. 3, 2011.

Drew shot a season-best 51.6% from the floor and out-rebounded the Cannoneers 51-21. Pratt dropped to 2-4 on the season.

Junior guard Julia Ramos led the Blue and Green with 19 points while shooting 4-for-5 from 3-point range. Junior center Erin Frederick notched 12 points and seven rebounds while sophomore forward Cecelia Kracht just missed a double-double with 10 points and nine boards. Sophomore guard Brooke Timinski shot 3-for-6 from beyond the arc and finished with 11 points while sophomore forward Sekya Campbell added 11 points in her season debut. Freshman forward Katrina Wojtowicz contributed 10 points.

Fifteen different Rangers entered the game, with all but one finding the scoring column.

The Rangers took control from the start, outscoring the hosts 25-4 in the first quarter. They went on to net over 30 points in each of the middle two periods and led 56-14 at halftime and 90-23 through three quarters of play.

Drew plays its Landmark Conference opener on Saturday, when it visits Catholic University at 4 p.m.
