Rangers Down Stockton, Run Record to 7-0

GALLOWAY, N.J. - The Rangers outscored host Stockton University 10-2 to start the game, then held off a late rally and the Drew University women's lacrosse team continued its best start since 1997 with a 16-12 non-conference victory Friday evening. Sophomore Lauren Cassella racked up five goals and two assists while classmate Kat Michalski made a career-high 18 saves as the Rangers ran their record to 7-0.

Highlights
• The Ospreys (3-2) led 2-1 less than four minutes into the game before Drew ran off a 9-0 run to open up its commanding eight-goal lead. Cassella and junior Allie DiDario tossed in three goals apiece during the outburst while senior Mia Campanale struck twice.
• Stockton found a spark at the end of the half, scoring twice to make it an 11-4 game at the intermission.
• The hosts turned up the heat in the second period, out-shooting the Rangers 22-9 and opening the stanza on a 5-1 run to pull to within three (12-9) with 18:55 left.
• The Rangers led just 13-10 with 14:08 to go, but a 3-0 Drew run put the game on ice as Campanale, freshman Hailey Simmons, and Cassella all scored.
