FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Drew University softball team split a pair of games on the final day of its Spring Break trip to Florida on Friday. The Rangers (4-6) opened with a 9-1, six-inning victory over Penn State Altoona (6-5) but lost by a 6-3 count to Martin Luther College (1-5). Drew smacked 19 hits on the day, including 11 versus Altoona.

Game One Highlights
• The Rangers jumped on top 3-0 early with a three-run first inning, capped by a two-run double from sophomore
Sophie Sirota.
• Freshman
Julia Sinatra blasted a solo homer in the third to make it 4-1 before the Rangers broke it open with a four-run fourth, highlighted by a two-run single from freshman
Renata Primmer.
• The game ended when sophomore
Adriana Rodriguez singled in a run in the sixth to make it 9-1, bringing the eight-run rule into effect.Â

Megan Hulmes allowed just one run over the first three innings before senior
Cara O'Leary blanked the Lions over the final three frames to pick up the win.
Game Two Highlights
• Martin Luther raced to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first before the Rangers chipped away with single runs in the third and fifth. Perry smashed a solo homer in the third before Sirota singled in a run in the fifth to make it 3-2.
• The Knights padded their lead with another three runs in the sixth.Â
• Drew ralllied in the seventh, putting the first three runners on. Sophomore
Jasmine Vera singled in a run with no outs, but Martin Luther recorded three straight outs.
Top Performers
• Rodriguez finished the day 4-for-7 a pair of RBIs while Sirota was 4-for-8 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs.
• Perry went 3-for-7 with three runs scored while Vera also roped three hits.Â
• Hulmes allowed four hits and just one unearned run in the opener. O'Leary (3-0) scattered three hits while earning her third victory of the trip.
• Sophomore
Stephanie Burns (1-2) started in the opener and pitched three innings before giving way to freshman
Skyler Colarusso, who tossed the final three frames.
Next Up
The Rangers are scheduled to host St. Joseph's (N.Y.) in a doubleheader on Wednesday starting at 3:30 p.m.
