MADISON, N.J. – Senior
Jendy Castillo took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and three Drew pitchers combined for a one-hitter in a 7-2 victory over New Jersey City University in non-conference baseball action Wednesday afternoon at Doc Young Field. With the victory, the Rangers (16-10) pushed their season-long winning streak to six games.
Highlights
• Senior
Mike Pettigrew slugged his first career home run in the bottom of the second, blasting a two-run shot well over the leftfield fence to hand the Rangers a 2-0 lead. Drew doubled its advantage with a two-run fifth.
• After walking the leadoff batter in the first, Castillo settled in and was perfect for the next five-plus innings, retiring 16 straight.
• The Gothic Knights (12-9) ended the streak with back-to-back one-out walks in the sixth. After a balk, No. 3 hitter Nick LoGatto broke up the no-hitter and shutout with a two-run single up the middle. However, Castillo bounced back to retire four of the last five batters he would face.
•The Rangers gradually pulled away with a single run in each of the last three innings. Junior

Davis Fouts closed out the win on the mound, tossing one scoreless inning apiece, with Fouts striking out two.
