MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University softball team rallied for a 4-3 walk-off victory in the opener on a one-out, two-run double from freshman
Madi Precht, highlighting a doubleheader sweep of St. Joseph's-Brooklyn Wednesday afternoon at the Drew Softball Complex. The Rangers (10-18) won the nightcap 8-1 in a game shortened to five innings due to darkness.
Game 1 Highlights
• The Rangers trailed 3-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh of the opener before embarking on their rally. Senior
Katie Grodski and sophomore
Sophie Sirota sparked the comeback with back-to-back doubles leading off the inning.
• Pinch-runner
Jenna Du Plooy scored on a passed ball and throwing error to make it 3-2 before a two-out dropped fly ball allowed the rally to continue.
• Another passed ball moved runners to second and third, setting up Precht's game-winning drive into the left-center gap.
Game 2 Highlights
• The Rangers took control early in the nightcap, scoring three runs in the second to take a 4-0 lead after Sirota put Drew on the scoreboard with an RBI-double in the first.
• In the second, Grodski knocked in a pair with another double before scoring on a single by freshman
Paxtan Perry.
• The Bears (10-15) pushed across an unearned run in the third, but the hosts answered with four in the bottom of the inning to set the final score. Du Plooy doubled in a run before another scored on an infield single by freshman
MaKayla Sosa. Precht capped the Rangers' big offensive performance with another two-run double.
Top Performers
• Precht finished the day 4-for-6 with two doubles, two runs, and four RBIs.
• Grodski and Sirota each went 3-for-6 with a pair of two-baggers.

Jasmine Vera scored three runs for the day.

Megan Hulmes (1-7) earned a complete-game win in the opener, scattering three runs (two earned) on six hits.
• Freshman
Skyler Colarusso (2-0) also went the distance in the second game, pitching five innings while yielding only an unearned run on five hits while striking out four.
