MADISON, N.J. – In a game played through a non-stop soaking rain, Cabrini University used a late 5-0 run to win the ECAC Division III women's lacrosse title with a 15-10 victory over the Rangers Sunday afternoon at FDU-Florham.
Freshman
Hailey Simmons finished with three goals, one assist, and four ground balls for Drew, which closes out the season with a 16-5 record, tying the school record for wins in a season. Cabrini, led by tournament MVP Avery Murphy (five goals, 11 draw controls), finished 14-8.

Allie DiDario put the Rangers up 1-0 less than 10 minutes into the game, weaving through several defenders before ripping a shot high into the net.

Mia Campanale scored 25 seconds apart, with Campanale bouncing a shot over the goalie. Cassella made it 4-4 with a shot from the left side on a free-position attempt.
• Cabrini took back the lead just over a minute later, but Simmons tied it for Drew on a free-position goal with 6:46 on the clock, making it a 5-5 game at the break.
• With the rain continuing to pour, the teams traded goals to open the second half, with DiDario slashing across the middle to score with 22:48 left and make it 6-6.
• The Cavaliers surged ahead once again with another 3-0 spurt, but the Rangers refused to go away. Freshman
Kendall Hartt and Simmons each scored before Campanale finished off a 3-1 surge with 10:09 left to make it 10-9.
• Cabrini then ran off its decisive run, scoring five times in less than four minutes. Simmons set the final score when she scored with 3:19 left.

• DiDario registered two goals, one assist, six ground balls, and five draw controls.
• Campanale closed out her collegiate career with a two-goal performance.
