MADISON, N.J. - On the heels of a banner season, the Drew University fencing program has swept the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) National Coach of the Year Awards.

Head Coach Vincent Paragano was selected as both the Division III Men's and Women's Coach of the Year, Michael Bindas was honored as the Division III Men's Assistant Coach of the Year, and Keri Ecker was chosen as the Division III Women's Assistant Coach of the Year.

On the men's side, the Rangers finished in 11th place at the NCAA National Championships, marking the team's highest finish in program history at the event. Drew earned the maximum six national qualifiers for the first time in program history and was the only Division III team to compete in the men's events at the NCAA Championships. All six qualifiers were named to the USFCA All-America Team, also marking a program record.

The Ranger women's team also claimed a pair of All-Americans this past season by virtue of their stellar performances during the regular season. Taking on a schedule made up almost entirely of Division I opponents, they finished with the most regular-season team victories (eight) of any Division III school this year.

The awards mark Drew's first-ever national coach of the year honors in fencing. Paragano was also named the Middle Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association (MACFA) Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2019 as well as the Eastern Women's Fencing Conference (EWFC) Coach of the Year in 2016.
