SCRANTON, Pa. - The Drew University baseball team lost twice at the University of Scranton in Landmark Conference action Monday afternoon.
The Royals defeated the Rangers 20-1 in the opener before capturing a 15-1 decision in the nightcap.
In the opener, sophomore
Jake Welsh was a bright spot for the Rangers, finishing 2-for-3 with a double. Senior
Kyle Tamburri (0-2) started on the mound and took the loss for Drew, pitching three innings.
Freshman
Owen Jaquette (0-2) was Drew's starting pitcher in the nightcap, and he worked 3 1/3 innings. Senior
Tom Burr ripped an RBI-single for the Rangers.
The Blue and Green return to action on Saturday, when they host Susquehanna University in a doubleheader starting at 12:30, kicking off another Landmark Conference four-game series.
