LEBANON, Pa. - Junior
Aubrey Johnson placed 33rd among 161 runners, leading the Drew University cross country teams at the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen Invitational on Saturday at Union Canal Tunnel Park.
Johnson broke 21 minutes for the first time as a Ranger, traversing the 5,000-meter course in 20 minutes, 50 seconds.
Drew's next finisher was junior
Virginia Gaylord, who also set a personal record for 5K with her time of 21:24 - good for a 53rd-place finish.
Rounding out the team scoring for the Rangers were juniors
Carly Orent (80th, 22:24),
Charlotte Principal (126th, 25:04), and
Tabitha Lopes (134th, 25:46) while junior
Samantha Villanueva (140th, 26:27) and senior
Marissa Berrios (143rd, 26:56) were also in action.
As a team, Drew finished 12th out of 16 teams.
On the men's side, freshman
Evan Pratts was the team's lone competitor. He clocked a time of 33:02 for the 8,000-meter course, finishing 155th in a field of 211 harriers.
Both teams pick up their schedules on Friday, when they run at the Moravian Invitational, held at Bicentennial Park in Bethlehem, Pa.
