WASHINGTON, DC - The Drew University baseball team carried a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the fifth inning, but host Catholic University scored the final 12 runs of the game en route to a 15-4 victory over the Rangers on Sunday, completing a series sweep.
Junior
K.J. Hallgren finished 2-for-4 and scored a pair of runs for Drew. He sparked the Rangers in the first inning, when he singled before coming around to score.Â
The Cardinals scored two in the bottom of the frame and one in the third versus senior starter
Teddy Hoxie, but Drew answered with three in the top of the fifth. Freshman
Dallas Lorenzetti and Hallgren led off with back-to-back singles before freshman
Matt Myers brought in a run with a sacrifice fly. Sophomore
Joey Del Sol and freshman
Ryan Jones followed up with RBI-singles to give the Rangers their one-run lead.Â
Catholic answered with six runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 9-4 lead, then tacked on five in the seventh and one in the eighth.

The Rangers are back in action on Wednesday, when they take on Montclair State University at 3:30 p.m. in their home opener.
