MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's tennis team completed the opening day of the Ranger Invitational Doubles Tournament on Saturday in the Simon Forum.
Leading the way for the Rangers was senior
John Dickey and sophomore
Sergey Kravchenko, who finished a perfect 3-0, including a win via tiebreaker over a team from Rowan College of South Jersey, 6-5 (8-6).
Three different tandems earned two victories apiece for Drew, including junior
Santo Carroccia and freshman
Shivi Perera, who finished 2-1.
Leo Ambrogio and junior
Daryl Wong Li-Hom notched a 2-2 mark, including a 6-5 (7-5) tiebreaker win over a team from New Jersey City. Senior
Dan Blumenthal and junior
Jack Polvere also turned in a 2-2 showing while senior
Avi Perera and Wong Li-Hom captured their only match together.
The invitational concludes on Sunday starting at 10 a.m.
