MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's tennis team wrapped up a busy weekend on Sunday, competing in 11 more doubles matches on the second and final day of the Ranger Invitational Doubles Tournament.
The Rangers also competed in 24 doubles matches on Saturday, taking on teams from FDU-Florham, Harford Community College, New Jersey City University, Rowan College of South Jersey, and Center Court Tennis Academy.
Drew's top tandem on Sunday was senior
Leo Ambrogio and
Dan Blumenthal, who went 2-0 for the day, including a tight 6-5 (8-6) win over a team from Harford.
Capturing one victory apiece on Sunday were senior
Bret Schuler and junior
Daryl Wong Li-Hom, freshman
Shivi Perera and sophomore
Owen Reynolds, and sophomore
Sergey Kravchenko and Reynolds.
For the tournament, four different Rangers finished with four victories: Kravchenko (4-1), Ambrogio (4-2), Blumenthal (4-2), and Wong Li-Hom. In addition, senior
John Dickey and
Shivi Perera each went 3-3.
Drew continue its season next Sunday, when it kicks off its spring break trip to Hilton Head with matches versus Lebanon Valley and Allegheny.
