NAPLES, Fla. – The Drew University softball kept the ball rolling on Friday, winning the final two games of its spring break trip to Florida.
The Rangers opened the morning with an 8-0 win over Western Connecticut State before earning a 5-2 victory over John Jay College. Drew concluded their southern excursion with a 9-1 record and are currently on an eight-game winning streak heading back to the Garden State.
Against WestConn, sophomore
Teagan Bradley (2-1) pitched a seven-hit shutout while striking out five. She was in command right from the start and fanned the side in the top of the first.
The hot bats of the Rangers did not cool off on the final day of games, as sophomore
Deja Robinson continued her tremendous streak with a single to shortstop, scoring a pair of runs to put Drew up 2-0 early after an inning of play.
Drew extended its lead to 5-0 in the fourth despite posting just one hit in the inning. The Blue and Green then pushed across one run apiece in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings on a sacrifice fly from junior
Madi Baldwin and RBI-singles from senior
Madi Precht and sophomore
Mackenzie Pisani.
Precht enjoyed a big game against the Wolves, finishing 3-for-3, while Robinson went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
The second game began in similar fashion, with the Rangers striking early. In the bottom of the first, freshman

Haley Meierhofer would single home Shimp to put the Rangers up 2-0.
John Jay responded right away, scoring two in the top of the second on a pair of Drew throwing errors to tie the game at 2-2.
After drawing a walk in the bottom third, Precht would eventually score on a wild pitch to put the Rangers back up 3-2.
Precht would continue her tear on the base path on the final day of games. In the fourth, she Drew the throw to second while stealing, allowing freshman
Amanda Novak to steal home and put the Rangers up 4-2. Shortly thereafter, Precht herself would score the final run of the game, crossing the plate on an error.
Senior

Precht scored three runs and stole a pair of bases for the Rangers.
Drew returns to action on Wednesday, when they host non-conference opponent Kean University in their home opener starting at 3 p.m.
