HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Drew University men's tennis team improved to 2-1 on its spring break trip to Hilton Head with a 4-3 victory over Marian (Ind.) University on Wednesday at Hilton Head High School.
 
The Rangers (3-2) fell behind after the Knights captured the doubles point, but came back to win four of the six singles matches.
 
Senior Avi Perera and junior Daryl Wong Li-Hom earned Drew's loan doubles victory, prevailing 7-6 (7-3) at the No. 1 spot.
 
The same two Rangers won at Nos. 1-2 singles. Perera captured a 6-3, 6-3 decision at No. 1 while Wong L-Hom was awarded a win by retirement. Senior Bret Schuler rallied for a 3-6, 6-2, 10-5 win at No. 5 while junior Santo Carroccia also won on a tiebreaker, 6-3, 4-6, 10-5.
 
Drew concludes its trip on Friday, when it takes on Gettysburg College on Friday at 1 p.m.
