MORRISTOWN, N.J – The Drew University men's tennis team defeated Saint Elizabeth University 9-0 on Friday in its final match of the regular season.
The Rangers (14-4) opened with doubles victories from senior
Dan Blumenthal and
Sergey Kravchenko at No. 1 (8-0), senior
John Dickey and sophomore
Owen Reynolds at No. 2 (8-1), and freshman
Kiran Bhattacharya and senior
Bret Schuler at No. 3 (8-2).
Drew also earned singles wins from Schuler at No. 1 (6-0, 6-0), Dickey at No. 2 (6-0, 6-0), junior
Jack Polvere at No. 3 (6-0, 6-0), Kravchenko at No. 4 (6-0, retired), Reynolds at No. 5 (6-4, 6-0), and Bhattacharya at No. 6 (4-6, 6-1, 10-3).
With Dickey and Schuler's singles wins, the pair completed the career cycle of at least one victory at each of the nine lineup spots.
Drew will open the Landmark Conference Championships on Tuesday, when the top-seeded Rangers host a semifinal match versus an opponent to be determined.
