MADISON, N.J. – Ten members of the Drew University men's tennis team competed in the singles "C" draw of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Northeast Region Championship on Thursday at the Drew Tennis Complex and Simon Forum.
Along the Rangers, four other schools – FDU-Florham, Pratt, Ramapo, and SUNY Oneonta – also competed in the C draw.
Freshman
Yassine Rahi picked up the most victories for Drew, finishing 3-1, while freshman
Daniel Arcari, freshman
Ty Gelijns, and junior
Josh Kline all went 2-0. Junior
Sergey Kravchenko, freshman
Ian Michel, freshman
Nicolas Mobayed, and junior
Owen Reynolds all posted a 2-1 mark while sophomore
Shivi Perera won his lone match.
The tournament begins in earnest on Friday with the singles and doubles main draws taking place in the Simon Forum, starting at 8:30 a.m. For the Rangers, sophomore
Jesse Faro and freshman
Joshua Thomas will compete in singles while the doubles tandem of seniors
Avi Perera and
Daryl Wong Li-Hom will also be in action.
