WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Drew University women's basketball team outscored host Lycoming College 26-3 in the first quarter and held off a late rally to earn a 71-64 Landmark Conference victory Saturday afternoon.
The Rangers received a balanced scoring effort, as six different players scored seven or more points. Sophomore guard
Maddie Beyer led the way with 12 points while freshman guard
Amy Rachilla added 11 points on perfect shooting, as she went 4-for-4 from the field and 2-for-2 at the foul line. Rachilla also tied her season-high with seven assists and swiped three steals.

Jamie Struble contributed with eight points and eight rebounds for Drew (7-12, 5-7 LC). Freshman guards

Sarah Smout added seven points apiece for the Rangers.
Ashley Yoh scored 19 points to pace the Warriors (10-9, 4-8 LC).
The Rangers opened the game on a 10-0 run, then closed the quarter with a flurry, outscoring the hosts 16-3 over the last five minutes of the period.
Drew shot 55.6% (10-18) from the field in the opening quarter, including 4-for-11 from 3-point range, while holding Lycoming to 2-for-19 shooting.
The Rangers edged the Warriors 12-11 in the second quarter and carried a 38-16 lead into the locker room.
Lycoming began to chip away in the third quarter, but a 3-pointer from Beyer with 1:14 left in the period gave the Rangers a 52-35 advantage heading into the final stanza.
The Warriors opened the fourth quarter on a 9-2 run to reduce the deficit to 10 with 6:40 remaining. Lycoming drew within single digits with 3:40 left and pulled to within four (67-63) with 46 seconds left. But the Rangers came up big at the foul line down the stretch, as Rachilla went 2-for-2 with 44 seconds left before Beyer connected on two as well with 22 ticks showing, putting the game out of reach at 71-63.
Drew is back in Landmark Conference action on Wednesday, when it hosts Moravian University at 7 p.m.
