WASHINGTON – Senior
Tyler Olivio scored a goal while sophomore
Beth Kelly made 12 saves but the Drew University field hockey team lost by a final of 4-1 at Catholic University in a Landmark Conference tilt on Saturday.
The Cardinals (6-7, 4-0 LC) scored less than two minutes into the game, but Olivio tied it up when she struck off an assist from freshman
Ellie Kopec for her team-leading eighth goal of the season. Catholic took the lead for good, however, when it scored with just under five minutes left in the opening half and the hosts led 2-1 at the break.
Kelly made five of her saves in the second quarter and nine in the first half.
The hosts added a pair of insurance tallies in the less than two minutes apart midway through the third quarter.
Senior
Lauren Cagliostro added a pair of defensive saves for the Rangers.
Drew returns to Landmark Conference action on Tuesday, when it visits Moravian University in a 7 p.m. start.
