LEBANON, Pa. – Sophomore
Sarah Hattan finished 23rd out of 105 runners to lead the Drew University women's cross country team at the Landmark Conference Championships, hosted by Elizabethtown College at Union Canal Tunnel Park on Saturday.
Hattan was timed at a career-best 24 minutes, 14 seconds for the 6,000-meter course as the Rangers placed seventh in the team standings.
Hattan was one of six Rangers who recorded a personal record (PR) on the day.
Freshman
April Kusnier and senior
Caitlin Mulvey were Drew's second and third finishers. Kusnier placed 40th in 24:59 while Mulvey was 43rd in 25:05. Both times were PRs.
Rounding out the team score were freshmen
Isabella Fortunato and
Deborah Wang, both of who recorded PRs as well. Fortunato placed 63rd in 26:05 while Wang took 71st in 26:45.
Also competing for the Rangers were junior
Annelise Wade, who came in 73rd in 26:48; sophomore
Ariana Vira, who took 82nd in 27:24; and freshman
Bella Polizzi, who was 87th in a PR of 27:53.
Led by race winner Kate Inglis (21:56), Catholic University captured the team title with a score of 59 points, edging Moravian University by a single point.
The Rangers continue their season at the NCAA Division III Metro Region Championships on Nov. 16 at Stockton University.
