Men’s Tennis Finishes Play at Ranger Invitational Doubles Tournament

MADISON, N.J. – Four doubles tandems were in action for the Drew University men's tennis team on the second and final day of the Ranger Invitational Doubles Tournament on Sunday in the Simon Forum.
 
The event consisted of six teams – Drew, FDU-Florham, Ramapo, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Division I Rider University, and Rowan College of South Jersey.
 
After 10 Rangers played in a total of 21 matches on Saturday, play shifted to single elimination on Sunday, when eight players competed in five matches. Freshmen Ty Gelijns and Ian Michel were the lone Drew squad to compete for than once on Sunday, opening with an 8-3 loss to a team from Rider before dropping an 8-3 verdict versus a pair from Ramapo.
 
Also competing were senior Santo Carroccia and sophomore Shivi Perera, who fell by a score of 8-4 versus a tandem from Rider; junior Sergey Kravchenko and freshman Joshua Thomas, who lost 8-2 against a team from FDU; and freshman Daniel Arcari and sophomore Jesse Faro, who lost 8-3 to a team from RIT.
 
Drew returns to action next Sunday, when it visits Salisbury University in a non-conference dual match starting at 1 p.m.
