UNION, N.J. – The Drew University softball team rallied from a 3-0 deficit heading into the fifth inning to win the opener and the Rangers came away with a split in a non-conference doubleheader on Friday at Kean University.

The Rangers (8-4) won 6-5 in the first game for the team's first victory over the Cougars since a 7-6 win on March 31, 2005 in Madison. The Cougars (10-7) claimed the nightcap 8-4.

Junior
Teagan Bradley tossed a complete game to earn the victory in the opener, scattering 13 hits while striking out six and walking only one. She also helped herself at the plate, blasting a two-run homer that tied the game 3-3 in the fifth.

Sophomore
Olivia Magliacano went 2-for-3 with a double in the opener while senior
Molly O'Brien went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs in Game Two. Her homer – a solo shot in the fifth – was the 14th of her career, tying the school record set by Kerry Crowley C'08 from 2005-08.

In the opener, Kean's Nikki Lusnia carried a no-hitter into the fifth, but that's when Drew's bats came to life. After junior
MacKenzie Pisani was hit with a pitch, pinch-runner
Daylin Evans-Lascik stole second before Magliacano put the Rangers on the scoreboard with an RBI-double. Bradley followed up with her two-run dinger to center that tied it up.

The Rangers followed up with three more runs on five hits in the sixth. O'Brien and sophomore
Haley Meierhofer each singled and stole a base before junior
Fran O'Kleasky delivered a single to center with the go-ahead run. Sophomore
Josie Di Troia followed up with a two-run single to put Drew up 6-3.

Kean made it a one-run game with a two-run homer in the sixth, but Bradley (2-1) retired the last four batters of the game.

In the nightcap, the Cougars broke out to a 2-0 lead with a two-run homer in the first. However, the Rangers claimed the lead with a three-run third, when O'Brien singled home a run and stole home before O'Kleasky pushed in another run with a sacrifice fly.

The Cougars went in front to stay in the third, however, clouting a pair of two-run homers to go up 6-3.

O'Brien pulled the Rangers to within one with her record-tying blast in the fifth before the hosts added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth.

Freshman
Allie Porbansky started in the circle for the Rangers and tossed three innings while striking out four. Junior
Tyler Saunders pitched the final three frames and struck out two.

The Rangers are back in action on Tuesday, when they visit Montclair State University in another non-conference doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
