AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Drew University baseball teams came to the diamond ready to hit on Thursday, scoring 25 runs over 13 innings in a doubleheader sweep of Martin Luther University in Florida.

The Rangers (5-3) captured the opener 14-5, then prevailed 11-5 in the nightcap.

Drew has now won the last four games of its spring break trip after dropping the first game of its southern swing.

Senior
Anthony Diaz Jr. led the Rangers at the plate, finishing 5-for-8 with seven RBIs and five runs for the day.

In the opener, Drew broke open a close game with a seven-run fourth, putting the Rangers up 11-3. Diaz finished 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs while freshman
Aiden Mitchell went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs. Mitchell also clouted his first collegiate home run, a three-run shot that capped Drew's seven-run inning.

Senior
Nate Miller also enjoyed a big day at the plate, finishing 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while junior
Ryan Jones singled twice.

Freshman
Alex Feeney started on the mound for Drew and worked 3 1/3 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits while striking out two. Junior
Connor Ruscansky came on to toss 1 2/3 shutout innings to earn his first collegiate victory. JuniorÂ
Kendall Kendrick fired one scoreless inning and struck out two while classmate
Dominic Goodenough fanned the only batter he faced to end the game.

Diaz swung a hot bat in the second game as well, finishing 2-for-4 with a double, four RBIs, and three runs scored. Junior
Mike Gallaro went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs, and two RBIs while sophomore
Kyle Johnson was 2-for-2 with three runs. Mitchell doubled and drove in another three runs in the nightcap.

Junior
Raiden Yost started on the mound for Drew and picked up the win. He tossed five innings, allowing two runs on five hits while racking up a career-high eight strikeouts.

The Rangers trailed 1-0 after the first inning but responded with a five-run second, which included a two-run single from Gallaro and a two-run double from Mitchell.

It was a 6-2 game after three innings of play, but that's when Drew broke it open with five unanswered runs, capped by a two-run double from Diaz in the sixth.

Freshman
Graham Ross pitched one scoreless inning in the second game for the Rangers while junior
Alex Barbarisi also worked 2/3 of an inning. Goodenough recorded the final out and retired the only batter he faced for the second game in a row.

Drew finishes its spring break trip on Friday, when it takes on Northland College in a single nine-inning game starting at 9:15 a.m.
