KINGSTON, Pa. – The Drew University men's tennis team won two of three doubles matches, then added five singles victories to record a 7-2 Landmark Conference victory at Wilkes University on Wednesday.
In doubles play, freshman
Daniel Arcari and sophomore
Jesse Faro prevailed 8-1 at the second spot to improve to 7-0 in conference play. Sophomore
Shivi Perera and senior
Jack Polvere added an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, Faro claimed a 6-2, 6-4 decision at No. 1 while Arcari was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at No. 3. Freshman
Joshua Thomas earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 4, and Perera captured a 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 triumph at No. 5. In addition, senior
Santo Carroccia earned a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6. Senior
Daryl Wong Li-Hom came close to earning another Drew victory but was edged 6-2, 4-6, 16-14 in a marathon match.
The Rangers return to action with two matches on Friday, visiting Ursinus College at 3 p.m. and hosting Mercer County Community College at 4 p.m.
