Women’s Tennis Defeats Wilkes to Stay Undefeated in Conference

KINGSTON, Pa. – The Drew University women's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 victory over Wilkes University in the TK Tennis Academy to stay undefeated in Landmark Conference play.
 
With the victory, the Rangers (8-6, 8-0 LC) extended their winning streak versus Landmark Conference opponents to 26 and have won their last 23 Landmark Conference regular-season matches.
 
Drew opened the match winning at Nos. 1-3 doubles. Senior Melina Christodoulou and junior Mary Kalorin earned an 8-5 victory, improving to 6-1 in conference action. Senior Michelle Lombardi and freshman Danielle Pettoni added an 8-2 win at No. 3.
 
The Rangers went on to win all six singles matches. Christodoulou won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 while Kalorin and sophomore Natalia Zamora each logged a three-set victory. Kalorin rallied for a 2-6, 6-1, 10-6 win at No. 2 to push her conference record to 8-0 while Zamora was a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 winner at No. 3.
 
Freshman Maddie Krzanowski won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 while classmate Riley Roesel captured an 8-0 decision at No. 5, improving todd 7-1 in the Landmark Conference. Junior Elise Parisi contributed a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 6.
 
The Rangers are back in action on Friday, when they visit Ursinus College at 3 p.m. in a non-conference match.
