GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Drew University men's cross country team continued its season at the Stockton University Osprey Open on Saturday.
 
The meet was a preview of the NCAA Division III Metro Region Championships, which will be held on the same course on Nov. 16.
 
Senior Toby Gaynor was Drew's top finisher, placing 89th in the field of 189. In his first race of the season, he cruised the 8,000-meter course in 28 minutes, 36 seconds.
 
Freshman Matt Ellis and sophomore Thomas Edwards were not far behind, crossing taking 93rd and 96th, respectively, in 28:40 and 28:49. Junior Dylan Crain took 108th in 29:13 while freshman Eliot Vishnevsky came in 137th in 31:18.
 
Junior Gaetano Allegri (159th, 33:21) and sophomore Aidan Rosser (167th, 34:02) were also in action.
 
In the team action, the Rangers placed 14th in the field of 20.
 
Drew continues its season next Saturday at the Penn State Abington Invitational, held at Lorimer Park in Abington, Pa. starting at 9 a.m.
