Beth Kelly made 11 saves, but the Drew University field hockey team was handed a 5-0 setback by Widener University in a non-conference outing Saturday afternoon in Ranger Stadium.
The Pride (2-2) scored one goal in each of the first three quarters before adding a pair of tallies in the fourth period. Five different players scored a goal for the visitors.
Kelly exceeded her previous career-high save total by six stops. She turned aside five shots in the first quarter and three apiece in the third and fourth quarters.
The Rangers return home on Tuesday, when they take on Eastern University at 7 p.m. in a tune-up for their Landmark Conference opener next Saturday at Susquehanna University.
