BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Drew University men's cross country team competed in the 51st annual Paul Short Run on Friday at Lehigh University.
Competing against a mix of Division II and Division III schools, the Rangers placed 18th out of 35 teams.
Individually, junior
Tommy Edwards and sophomore
Matt Ellis finished in a virtual dead heat, with Edwards placing 80th in 28 minutes, 3.5 seconds and Ellis taking 81st in 28:03.6 for the 8,000-meter course.
Freshman
Fred Grote was next to cross the finish line for the Rangers, clocking a 28:14 to finish 85th. Senior
Dylan Crain came in 167th in 29:25 while freshman
Matt Vargas completed the team scoring, taking 194th in 29:49. Classmate
Chris Tocci was close behind, finishing 195th in 29:52.
Also in action were sophomore
Eliot Vishnevsky (209th, 30:12), freshman
Patrick Robinson (289th, 34:58), and freshman
Luke Krafton (299th, 36:49).
Drew continues its season on Oct. 18 with the Rowan University Inter-Regional Border Battle, held at Gloucester County Dream Park in Logan Township, N.J.
