BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Senior
Kate Rice placed 34th out of 286 runners, leading the Drew University women's cross country team in the "Green" race of the 51st annual Paul Short Run on Friday at Lehigh University.
As a team, the Rangers placed 22nd out of 34 schools while competing against a mix of Division II and Division III schools.
Competing in her second race of the year, Rice clocked a time of 24 minutes, 10 seconds for the 6,000-meter course. She was followed by junior
Skyler McGuire, who placed 90th in 25:21.
Sophomore
Perri Rubin was next to cross the finish line for the Rangers, placing 132nd in 26:09. Rounding out the team score were sophomore
Isabella Fortunato (148th, 26:22) and junior
Sophia Kim (161st, 26:39) while sophomore
Bella Polizzi (197th, 27:26) was also in action.
Fran Peterson of Division II St. Michael's won the race in 22:12 while Division II Clarion University claimed the team title.
The Rangers continue their season on Oct. 11, when they race at the NJIT Highlander Challenge, held at Branch Brook Park in Newark, N.J.
